With the recent outpouring of support both personal and corporate for the plight of African-Americans at the hands of police in the United States and elsewhere, some have pointed out that those that now claim to want to fight for the oppressed have a less than stellar record when it comes to combating racism.<\/p>\n

One such case was brought to light by Twitter user ModernWarzone who took Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developers and publishers to task for not doing enough to stop people using racist language in their in-game name<\/a>, a contradiction of Activision and Infinity Ward’s claims earlier that day “stand alongside” those that are “speaking up for equality, justice and change”.<\/p>\n

The campaign #EndCODracism began trending on Twitter and a post on the Modern Warfare subreddit quickly gained traction.<\/p>\n

This prompted Infinity Ward to make a statement on a day letter setting out changes they intend to implant to end the scrouge of racist language with-in the game.<\/p>\n
