Baldur’s Gate 3 allows you to do what actual Dungeons & Dragons does and put levels into other classes besides your main class. While this means that you won’t have a full suite of abilities for your main chosen class, it does mean you’ll be able to dabble in other areas and gain abilities that you otherwise wouldn’t have access to. We’ve put together a list of a few different multiclasses that you should absolutely mess around with, and why you should do it.<\/p>\n
If you’re looking to multiclass Astarion, this is absolutely the way to go. It’s so good that there’s not really any other option, you’ll always want to go with this. <\/p>\n
You need to put enough levels into Rogue to at least unlock the Assassin subclass so that you have advantage on enemies who haven’t taken a turn yet, and we’d also greatly recommend that you take both the Sharpshooter and the Alert feat to increase your damage and your initiative rolls respectively. <\/p>\n
Take two levels to Fighter, just enough to unlock the Action Surge ability so that you’re able to take an additional action on your turn, which will likely be the first turn in the initiative order. Then take at least three levels in Ranger, choosing the Gloom Stalker subclass. This subclass gives you Dread Ambusher, which offers a +3 to your initiative (meaning that at a minimum you’ll have a +8 to your initiative) and a free extra attack that doesn’t cost an action or a bonus action. You’ll be doing an extreme amount of damage on your first turn, allowing you to take out any enemies that might be causing you trouble.<\/p>\n
Fighter and Barbarian probably seems like a common-sense combination. If you take both of them, you have access to both Battle Manoevers (assuming you take the Battle Master class) and Rage, meaning that you can tank a lot of hits and really deal damage to your enemies in an extreme fashion. Nothing complicated here like with the first multiclass option, just take six levels in each and you’ll be rolling over your enemies. <\/p>\n
Another Rogue multiclass here, this time with a Monk. The fact of the matter is that a Rogue doesn’t tend to wear armor due to the fact that most armor grants them a stealth disadvantage. Monks gain extra movement based on their not wearing armor, and their armor class is ten plus their Dexterity modifier plus their Wisdom modifier. Your armor class can be pretty high if you play your ability score increases right, but that’s not why this is so good.<\/p>\n
If you take the Tavern Brawler feat, then you’ll be dealing a whole lot of damage. And if you reach level three as a Rogue, you’re given multiple different Subclass options. Take the Thief subclass to gain an extra Bonus attack in your turn, and your Monk is suddenly able to attack a whole lot more during their turn. With the combination of Ki points and their extra bonus actions, you can decimate enemy health before they get their hands on you.<\/p>\n
To Multiclass in Baldur’s Gate 3, all you need to do is choose a different class once you level up. This will allow you to place levels in that specific class.<\/p>\n
