Split screen support may have been less prevalent in video games, especially titles with a massive investment in multiplayer modes. Forza Motorsport has regularly featured split-screen co-op in its multiplayer modes<\/a>, with the last being included in Forza Motorsport 7 at launch.<\/p>\n

Does Forza Motorsport Have Split Screen Support?<\/h2>\n

Split screen support is one of many legacy features that has been included in a Forza Motorsport<\/a> game. While the global release of Forza Motorsport has finally landed on console and PC<\/a>, unfortunately, it was one of a few features that didn’t cut, according to Creative Director Chris Esaki.<\/p>\n

This legacy feature was confirmed that it would be omitted from Forza Motorsport at launch during August’s Forza Monthly livestream<\/a> on 11th August 2023. Esaki commented on the reasoning behind the decision, which boiled down to the studio’s “heavy investment in pushing our new graphical features and our complete overhaul of the rendering engine, unfortunately, made split screen really difficult to implement.”<\/p>\n

While its direct competitor, Gran Turismo 7<\/a>, does support split-screen support, fans of the Forza Motorsport series may be the slightest disappointed by its exclusion. As for whether it will be added as part of the game’s post-launch content plans<\/a> remains unknown, as Esaki stated this feature was not to be included “at launch.”<\/p>\n

In the same breath, Spectator Mode and AI Racing in Featured Multiplayer are other notable legacy features that have been omitted from Forza Motorsport at launch. Esaki stated that including these features wasn’t the “racing they had intended,” but with the potential of AI Racing in multiplayer, it could hamper player’s Safety Rating and “didn’t make sense to have.”<\/p>\n
