Just put all of your levels into Barbarian and you should be fine, since a lot of the best Barbarian abilities unlock at higher levels.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In terms of a subclass, you should pick the Berserker subclass. This subclass outputs the most damage per turn assuming everything actually hits, and while you&#8217;re raging you get a bonus attack called &#8216;Frenzy&#8217; which allows you to really clobber enemies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1hcfctu9uc\">Best Feats<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Alert<\/strong> &#8211; A bonus to Initiative is always great, and a full +5 to it is pretty incredible.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Great Weapon Master<\/strong> &#8211; Great Weapon Master is absolutely incredible for a Barbarian. Whenever you land a critical hit or kill a target you get another attack as a bonus action. In addition to this, weapons you&#8217;re proficient with deal an additional ten points of damage at the cost of a -5 to your attack roll.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mage Slayer<\/strong> &#8211; Mage Slayer is great since you&#8217;ll likely be getting up close and personal with your enemies, and if they cast a spell against you you&#8217;ll be able to just take them out.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Moderately Armoured <\/strong>&#8211;&nbsp;You gain Armour Proficiency with Medium Armour. Speaks for itself, really.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mobile<\/strong> &#8211; Mobile is incredible for any class. Once you attack an enemy you no longer provoke Opportunity Attacks from that target, meaning you can hit and run.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1hcfctu9ud\">Best Equipment<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/jkaLjEJIL6yVZoGT6XtU8xSe7fQhEMZrv9BdXG8WEcA\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMi8yX1J5YW5fRWFzYnlfUGljdHVyZXMvQkczX1BhcnR5LnBuZw\" alt=\"BG3_Party.png (1\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll want to make sure that Karlach is proficient with any weapon that you use, just to make sure you&#8217;re maximizing damage potential. In terms of armor, you&#8217;ll probably want to be careful: certain armor types will hinder your rage, so you need to know what you&#8217;re doing. Don&#8217;t equip heavy armor no matter what circumstance you find yourself in, basically.<\/p>\n<p>The best possible Armor you can get for Karlach is the Adamantine Scale since Reckless Attack makes it more likely that a character is hit with a critical attack and the Adamantine Scale completely eliminates that risk. Alternatively, try no armor since Barbarians receive higher AC if something isn&#8217;t labeled as armor.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1hcfge4nm0\">Karlach Proficiencies<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Simple Weapons<\/li>\n<li>Martial Weapons&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Light Armour<\/li>\n<li>Athletics<\/li>\n<li>Perception<\/li>\n<li>Survival<\/li>\n<li>Intimidation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1hcfctu9ue\">Best Spells<\/h3>\n<p>As a Barbarian, Karlach doesn&#8217;t really use spells. There&#8217;s one Barbarian subclass that uses any form of magic but it&#8217;s not one that you&#8217;ll likely spec into, so just concentrate on outputting as much damage as you possibly can with a weapon.
