Playing Fortnite<\/a> on mobile devices can be problematic. For starters, not every device is currently able to download the popular Battle Royale title. Those on iPhone will have a hard time trying to download the game directly from the Apple Store, owing to a long-running disagreement<\/a> between Apple and Epic Games. <\/p>\n

Those using Android devices can still download and play Fortnite, but soon certain devices will lose support. Below, we’ll go over which devices will be affected by the change, and when it’s set to roll out. <\/p>\n

Fortnite Ending Support On Android OS9<\/h2>\n

In a recent patch notes update<\/a>, Epic Games revealed that they would be ending support for Fortnite on Android OS9 devices. This means that only those with devices on OS10 ir higher will be able to continue playing Fortnite natively on Android “in an officially supported manner.”<\/p>\n

According to the post, Android OS9 will no longer be received active updates to ensure that it remains compatible with Fortnite. This means that players can expect a drop in service quality over time, eventually becoming unplayable.<\/p>\n

Some players might be unable to upgrade to OS10, in this case Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, and Amazon Luna are available alternatives. According to Epic Games, these services actively support OS9 Android devices so you can continue playing Fortnite via streaming.<\/p>\n

When Does Fortnite End Support For Android OS9?<\/h2>\n

Epic Games has revealed that support for Android OS9 will end with the v28.00 update. From this update, players will need to have Android OS10 or higher.
