Fans of Kinetic Games’ Phasmophobia will be disappointed to hear that the game’s highly-anticipated console release, once planned for August 2023<\/a>, has been delayed yet again.<\/p>\n

In Phasmophobia’s Development Preview 15, the team mentioned that they’ve “encountered unforeseen challenges in adapting the game for consoles.” They also noted the fire that occurred in the Phasmophobia office building back in August, which set back their development at the time.<\/p>\n

“These combined factors have affected our development timeline more than we initially anticipated,” they explained.<\/p>\n

But the factors preventing developers from an on-time launch didn’t end there. Phasmophobia is also set for a PSVR2 launch, so the team has been working on optimizing the game; this resulted in them needing to rework Maple Lodge Campsite with a new layout. This was “time-consuming for the art team,” developers said, but “is essential to provide the best possible gameplay experience.”<\/p>\n

Of course, when another delay has been announced, it’s hard not to be curious about the new release date for the console release of Phasmophobia. While developers say they “need more time,” an official release date is no doubt coming relatively soon.<\/p>\n

“We will keep you updated on our progress and provide a revised release date as soon as we have more information to share,” the team explained. “We are working diligently to minimize the impact of this delay, and we want to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support.”<\/p>\n

While many fans will no doubt be disappointed to hear that they’ll need to wait even longer to play Phasmophobia on Xbox or PlayStation, Kinetic Games finished things off with a rather reassuring statement: “We promise, when Phasmophobia arrives on consoles, it will be worth the wait.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
