Call of Duty Warzone 2 introduced a new variant on the popular Resurgence mode. Though regular Resurgence takes place on either Ashika Island or Vondel, Massive Resurgence brings the fight to Al Mazrah and drops 150 players into the map for pure chaos. Or at least, it did.

A new update for Warzone, which went live on October 18, has dramatically cut the player count for Massive Resurgence by dropping it from 150 players to just 100. The decision was met with confusion from fans, with some saying, “So it’s not massive anymore?”

Fortunately, it seems the reduction won’t be a permanent change. The official Call of Duty Updates X account replied to its own announcement, saying, “This reduction in Massive Resurgence Player count will only remain active on night Maps for the duration of The Haunting.”
