Despite having only recently launched Alan Wake 2, Remedy is already providing development updates on both Control 2 and the upcoming Max Payne remakes.<\/p>\n
In an investor note, Remedy noted the following:<\/p>\n
“Control 2 continues in the proof-of-concept stage. The plans for this sequel are ambitious, and we have seen good progress both in the designs and in the game build. We will continue at this stage for the next few quarters. We focus on proving the identified key elements before moving to the next stage and scaling up the team.”<\/em><\/p>\n Control originally launched in 2019, and was followed by two separate DLC expansions, one of which confirmed that both Control and Alan Wake share an expanded universe.<\/p>\n Remedy then went on to discuss the already announced remakes of Max Payne 1 and Max Payne 2, stating that:<\/p>\n “Max Payne 1 & 2 remake progressed into the production readiness stage. We have gained clarity on the style and scope of the game, and we have an exceptionally well-organized team working on it. With these accomplishments, we are excited about the project and its future success”<\/em><\/p>\n It’s likely that Remedy is looking to take a couple of years before they publish anything new, especially given the incredibly lengthy development period of Alan Wake 2 (a full thirteen years).
