However, this alerts all players and usually results in carnage. Players can call in their airdrop, eliminating the 20% chance and making it 100% with a flare gun or a handheld flare.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Players will need to obtain the following equipment first:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p id=\"firstHeading\">ZiD SP-81 26&#215;75 signal pistol<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>26&#215;75 flare cartridge (Red) or the <a title=\"RSP-30 reactive signal cartridge (Red)\" href=\"https:\/\/escapefromtarkov.fandom.com\/wiki\/RSP-30_reactive_signal_cartridge_(Red)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">handheld RSP-30 red flare<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ZiD SP-81 26&#215;75 signal pistol can be bartered from level 3 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/tarkov\/unlock-jaeger\">Jaeger<\/a> with these items:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3x Makarov PM (t) 9x18PM Pistol<\/li>\n<li>2x TT-33 7.62&#215;25 TT Pistol<\/li>\n<li>Gunpowder &#8220;Eagle&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This will provide you with the flare gun needed to call the airdrop, alternatively, you can use the handheld &#8220;RSP-30 reactive signal cartridge (red)&#8221; to call an airdrop. (Image: Battlestate Games)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1heqfogah3\">How To Use The Handheld Flare or Flaregun<\/h2>\n<p>Once obtaining either the handheld flare, the flare cartridge, or the flaregun, head into the raid and find an appropriate place on the map to call the airdrop, preferably an open area.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aim your flaregun\/handheld flare into the sky and fire&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Wait a few minutes to locate the plane and drop<\/li>\n<li>Note down the compass direction of the falling airdrop&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Airdrops don&#8217;t always land on the &#8220;call area&#8221; where you fired the flare, therefore, it&#8217;s vital to remember the general direction of the airdrop with a compass.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Airdrop will always flare red smoke inside a blue container. There is a 20-minute cooldown period between airdrops which is indicated by a <em>Wait for arrival!
