Path To Nowhere is an RPG<\/a> developed by Chinese developers Aisno Games. It is also a gacha game in which players must spend currency in order to acquire new characters. One of the biggest draws to playing a game like this is being able to collect your favorite characters, and spotting a nice design via advertising or elsewhere might be enough to hook a new player in. <\/p>\n

Usually, characters will appear on rate-up banners in these kinds of games. Once their banner expires, they will no longer be available. That being said, most characters will be “rerun” every year or so, so the term “limited” doesn’t hold much weight. <\/p>\n

However, Path To Nowhere has announced that one character, Coquelic, will be removed from all future banners, will never have a rerun, and will be unavailable to any new players starting the game. This declaration comes amidst Chinese censorship laws and the risqué design of Coquelic.<\/p>\n

Gacha games are no stranger to censorship, especially in China, but this is arguably the first time a game has decided to delete an entire character outright. Thankfully, those who already own Coquelic will not have their character removed. It will be interesting to see how Coquelic’s release is handled in the Global version of the game and whether this could be a trend for Chinese gacha games (and possibly Western gacha games) moving forward.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
