Megapithecus, resembling a large ape akin to a modern-day gorilla, possesses attacks and overall strength that are considered the weakest among the three main bosses on the Island. However, it is by no means an easy opponent. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the midst of battle, Megapithecus has the ability to summon minions in the form of Mesopithecus and Gigantopithecus. Additionally, the environment itself poses a threat as its cold temperatures can quickly induce hypothermia, emphasizing the importance of dressing appropriately to avoid a swift demise.<\/span><\/p>\n

To the right side of the starting area, there is a large hole that can instantly eliminate anything that falls into it. Coupled with the freezing temperatures of the environment, it becomes crucial to be well-prepared to avoid potential mishaps.<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s essential to avoid being dismounted, as the Megapithecus can swiftly eliminate you, particularly if you are not at a high level or if your armor lacks high defense stats. While you can use a shotgun against the boss or its spawns, it is far more effective to remain mounted on your tame, such as the Rex, and inflict damage from a safe position.<\/span><\/p>\n

Continuously deal damage with your tames, periodically heal yourself, and address any cold effects with items like Fria Curry<\/a> or by equipping armor that mitigates hypothermia (most armors offer some level of protection, with some being more effective than others).
