As early as 1 January 2024, the old Authenticator app will be removed from all app stores, including Google and Apple.<\/p>\n<p>Blizzard explains what will happen to accounts that do not migrate from the old Authenticator app:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>If you currently have your Battle.net Authenticator in the Battle.net Authenticator app, you must migrate to the new Battle.net mobile app by January 5. Check out the official steps below.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\">\n<li>If you haven&rsquo;t yet, download the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/account.blizzard.com\/security\/authenticator\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Battle.net Mobile App<\/a>&nbsp;to your phone<\/li>\n<li>Open the app and when prompted, log in with your Battle.net Account\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">You will be prompted to enable the Battle.net Authenticator and to set up Battle.net Phone Notifications if you have not yet done so\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">If you need to set up Battle.net Phone Notifications, a security code will be sent to your phone for verification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">If you did not previously have an Authenticator attached to your account, and are currently online, you will be kicked from the Battle.net desktop app, the game, and any mobile apps you are logged into<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If you are not prompted to enable the Authenticator:\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\">Open the slide out menu by tapping the icon at the top left of your screen<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\">Click on &#8220;Authenticator&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the setup to complete<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>That&#8217;s it! Your Battle.net Authenticator is now all setup and ready to use.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1hi0e78vo5\">Battle.net Authenticator Migration FAQs<\/h3>\n<p>Check out official FAQs about the Battle.net Authenticator migration below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can I use the same Authenticator Serial Number to secure more than one Battle.net Account?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Battle.net Authenticator requires a phone number be attached to an account, and a phone number can only be attached to a single Battle.net Account.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can I set up the same Authenticator Serial Number in more than one smartphone?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Your unique Authenticator is tied to your mobile device and we do not support setting up the same Serial Number on more than one device.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>I don&#8217;t have a mobile phone number<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A mobile phone number is required to set up and use the Battle.net Authenticator. If you are unable to access your previous Authenticator contact support.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>I&#8217;m not receiving the text message during setup<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Battle.net Phone Notifications are designed for text-enabled mobile phones. Messaging apps like iMessage (iOS) or WhatsApp (iOS, Android) are not supported. Phone notifications cannot be used with Voice over IP (VoIP), and VoIP numbers that are transferred to a local provider are not eligible for the service.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>I have a physical Authenticator.
