While players have been vigorously enjoying what <a title=\"Modern Warfare 3\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Modern Warfare 3<\/a>&#8216;s Multiplayer has to offer, many felt that the game&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-3\/campaign-review-worth-it\">Campaign was seriously lacking<\/a>. It&#8217;s no surprise that fans are looking ahead to 2024&#8217;s CoD release for something they can sink their teeth into.<\/p>\n<p>But given that Modern Warfare 3 launched this past November, it&#8217;s still early days for Activision who have yet to announce the next step in the franchise. Thanks to a number of rumors and educated speculations, we have a vague idea of where Call of Duty could be heading in 2024. Despite this, a number of <a title=\"Windows Central\" href=\"https:\/\/www.windowscentral.com\/gaming\/exclusive-call-of-duty-2024-is-indeed-black-ops-set-during-the-gulf-war-in-the-early-90s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leaks and rumors<\/a> have surfaced that claim that CoD 2024 will be a new Black Ops title.<\/p>\n<p>The last Black Ops game was Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which released in 2020. The title, like all Black Ops games, was developed by Treyarch. It&#8217;s a safe bet, then, that should CoD 2024 be another Black Ops title that Treyarch will once again be at the helm.<\/p>\n<p>According to outlet <a title=\"CharlieIntel via X\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/charlieINTEL\/status\/1727396561502753173?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CharlieIntel<\/a>, this new title will have had a four-year development cycle, the first in Call of Duty history to do so.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1hi3bm1ql5\">Call of Duty 2024 Setting Leaks, Rumors, Speculation<\/h2>\n<div class=\"rsp-embed-container\" contenteditable=\"false\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en_US\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Based on the latest rumors, the Call of Duty schedule looks like: <\/p>\n<p>Call of Duty 2024 &#8211; new Treyarch game, Black Ops title set in Gulf War era <\/p>\n<p>Call of Duty 2025 &#8211; Sequel to Black Ops 2, set in 2030, will have mix of new + remastered BO2 maps <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/nkGRznz3Ml\">pic.twitter.com\/nkGRznz3Ml<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/charlieINTEL\/status\/1737228878731428164?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 19, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>It&#8217;s still early days for any sort of official setting to be announced by either Activision or Treyarch, but <a title=\"Windows Central\" href=\"https:\/\/www.windowscentral.com\/gaming\/exclusive-call-of-duty-2024-is-indeed-black-ops-set-during-the-gulf-war-in-the-early-90s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rumors seem to suggest<\/a> that CoD 2024 will be set during the Gulf War era. This would make sense if the game was a continuation from Black Ops Cold War which, as the title suggests, was set in the Cold War which took place in the 1980s. Players can likely expect CoD 2024 to be released late-Fall, between late-October to mid-November. Typically, open betas are held a month ahead of release. So, if CoD 2024 launches in November, expect to see a beta in October.
