{"id":5978,"date":"2020-06-28T16:06:56","date_gmt":"2020-06-28T16:06:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/tencent-cyberpunk-game-syn"},"modified":"2024-07-22T02:29:12","modified_gmt":"2024-07-22T02:29:12","slug":"tencent-cyberpunk-game-syn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/tencent-cyberpunk-game-syn","title":{"rendered":"Tencent reveals SYN, an open-world FPS cyberpunk game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last Thursday we finally got a chance to see some new gameplay elements <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/video-games\/new-cyberpunk-2077-gameplay-footage-shows-braindance-mechanic\" target=\"_blank\">from Cyberpunk 2077.<\/a><\/p>\n<div id=\"traffective-ad-Content_1_847399\" style=\"display: none;\" class=\"Content_1\"><\/div>\n<p>Given that Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games of this generation, it comes as no surprise&nbsp;that cyberpunk genre as a whole might become quite popular in this decade, and people are already starting to call it &#8220;new zombies&#8221;.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Read more:<\/strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/video-games\/cyberpunk-2077-anime-coming-to-netflix\" target=\"_blank\">Cyberpunk 2077 anime coming to Netflix<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tencent Games, one of the biggest Chinese video game companies, held their annual Tencent Games press conference this Friday and there they have shared&nbsp;real-time Unreal Engine 4 tech demo of their new project called&nbsp;CODE: SYN.<\/p>\n<p>CODE: SYN is Tencent&#8217;s upcoming Cyberpunk open-world FPS in development for PC and console, with a focus on MMO aspects.<\/p>\n<p>The developer working on this game is Tencent-owned Lightspeed and Quantum Studios, which previously developed&nbsp;PUBG Mobile.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"CODE SYN tencent cyberpunk\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/YfqApN3_sKUjuQwoPg7e8Z1HGxMRLdUu6O_xbxKP8g8\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL05pa29sYV9TYXZpJUM0JTg3L0N5YmVycHVua18yMDc3L0NPREVfU1lOX3RlbmNlbnQuanBn\" style=\"width: 600px; height: 338px;\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size:11px;\">Character design is &#8220;realistic, yet stylish&#8221; (Picture: Tencent)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In a 3-minute demo, we can see some truly stunning visuals of the game, as well as some options for characters creations and customization, but without any gameplay or story elements.<\/p>\n<p>In the demo, we can see&nbsp;three currently available factions, but the game is still in the early stage of development,&nbsp;and this will probably change or more will be added in the future.&nbsp;Those three factions are&nbsp;Enforcer, Anarchy, and Motorheads.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Read more:<\/strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/video-games\/grab-cyberpunk-2077-free-goodies-on-gog\" target=\"_blank\">Grab Cyberpunk 2077 free goodies on GOG<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Characters look a bit anime-ish, but quite realistic and there will be a lot of customisation options for your character in the game.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our characters are realistic, yet stylish, with various customization features including cosmetics, skins, and extremely realistic effects achieved with our strand-based hair system through cooperation with Epic Games,&#8221; height: 338px;\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size:11px;\">Cyber-pets will be a big part of the game (Picture: Tencent)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s particularly interesting is that you can have your own cyber pet, and in the demo, we saw a cyber-bear and a cyber-leopard.<\/p>\n<p>You can also use and own vehicles, which can be customized as well, from the different types to little details such as parts and decals.<\/p>\n<p>There is currently no information about the release date, but it is confirmed that the game is being developed for both PC and consoles.<\/p>\n<div data-oembed-url=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HNRyleHDYFw\">\n<div style=\"left: 0;
