How To Find the Rhyniognatha in ARK Survival Ascended<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Rhynio marked the final addition to ARK Survival Ascended, concluding with a remarkable introduction due to its distinct (and fearsome) design, coupled with unique abilities and utility (more details on that later). For now, let’s explore the locations where you can encounter a Rhyniognatha in ARK Survival Ascended.<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s essential to note that taming a Rhynio doesn’t follow the traditional method<\/a>; instead, you must forcefully breed<\/a> one. To initiate this process, you need to locate and eliminate a Rhynio, specifically a male Rhynio, to obtain the Rhyniognatha pheromone it drops.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next, locate a female Rhyniognatha in the wild and engage it until it reaches approximately 10% of its maximum health. At this point, it will attempt to extend its lineage by impregnating your dino, marked by an incubation time and a craving timer now active on your dino.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the gestation cycle concludes, your dino will perish, and the newborn juvenile Rhyniognatha will emerge, ready to be tamed by approaching it and claiming it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rhyniognatha Abilities and Uses in ARK Survival Ascended<\/span><\/h2>\n

Now with a Rhyniognatha on your side, you might wonder about its benefits for you as a player. Fortunately, this creature offers extensive utility and could easily become your primary companion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting with its movement capabilities, the Rhynio is versatile. It can walk on water by pressing the Space key to “land” and glide on the water surface, taking off with the same key. It can swim underwater, either by diving from the sky or walking from the shore. To take off again, press space from the surface, considering it has an Oxygen<\/a> gauge, making it susceptible to drowning.<\/span><\/p>\n

In terms of combat, the Rhynio boasts a range of moves, including some special ones consuming Resin from its inventory. These include a Melee attack, the only attack usable underwater, striking with its forward limbs. Needle<\/strong> fires a Resin needle, Shoot<\/strong> allows continuous shooting with the right mouse click, Rocket<\/strong> attack fires a slower resin ball, and Sticky Bomb<\/strong> fires a heavy projectile leaving a resin pool.<\/span><\/p>\n

For defense, the Rhynio can protect itself with Resin-made armor, activated by pressing Ctrl + C or via the wheel menu. This costs 1 × Resin every 30 seconds, reducing incoming damage and speed. The Rhynio can also carry structures like Vaults for 1 × Resin every 30 seconds. The weight of items within the structure doesn’t affect the Rhyniognatha. It can carry all creatures a Quetzal can, as long as they lack a platform saddle.<\/span><\/p>\n
