When it was first released last year, the UFC 5 roster drew heavy criticism from some fans who believed that the game hadn’t added enough new fighters compared to UFC 4. EA responded swiftly by promising new roster members in future updates, and the latest UFC 5 update<\/a> is bringing their last confirmed additions. On top of that, the UFC 5 patch notes for this update reveal that stamina impacts while striking were adjusted once again.<\/p>\n

UFC 5 Patch Notes Add Final Announced Fighters, Change Striking Again<\/h2>\n

Shortly after launch, EA responded to criticisms of the UFC 5 roster<\/a>  by promising additional updates in the coming months. We saw two fighters added in the December UFC 5 update, a roster update added five more in January<\/a>, and finally this month there are three fighters joining the game.<\/p>\n

The latest UFC 5 update<\/a> brings Bryce Mitchell, Mayce Barber, and Joe Pyfer into the virtual octagon. They’re definitely welcome additions, but this marks the end of EA’s promised roster updates. As of now, no more UFC 5 roster additions have been announced or confirmed.<\/p>\n

That doesn’t necessarily mean the updates are over, as EA has been regularly updating Fight Week with new Alter Ego fighters each month around the time of major UFC events. They also continued to drop UFC 4 roster updates into July 2023. More UFC 5 roster updates could still happen, but we don’t know when or which fighters will be up next.<\/p>\n

This UFC 5 update deployed on February 8 with a size of approximately 1.34 GB across most platforms, and it also made more changes to striking. We’ve seen tons of tuning changes to striking and stamina drain throughout the year, and it seems the EA Sports devs haven’t quite found the balance they wanted. Stamina drain has been increased for strikes that are blocked, miss entirely, or are evaded.
