Nightingale is a Victorian fantasy-inspired survival game where players must learn to propser within the bizarre Fae Realms. The game can be enjoyed solo or with a team of friends, but one of the requirements seems to be that players must remain connected to the internet at all times.

It’s become a common trend with modern titles requiring a constant server connection at all times, even when the game can be played fully solo. For many, it’s frustrating, and leads to some uneven gameplay if a player’s internet connection isn’t up to scratch. So what about Nightingale? Can it be played offline?

In what will no doubt be disappointing news, players will need an internet connection to play Nightingale. The game cannot be played offline, even when playing solo. It’s a requirement that isn’t quite up-front and center when looking to purchase the game, but it can be found in the game’s system requirements on Steam:

Nightingale is currently in early access, which means plenty can change between now and the full release. However, it seems unlikely that offline play will be implemented — but you never know!

Developer Inflexion Games said in the Steam page FAQs that they “predict that Nightingale will be in Early Access for 9-12 months.” However, the developers went on to say that they don’t want to stick to any definitive date. “We’ll make sure that Nightingale will only leave Early Access when it’s ready.”

Do You Need An Internet Connection To Play Nightingale?
