Many fans of the titular FromSoft franchise are still holding out hope for the possible release of a Bloodborne remake<\/a> since its insanely successful launch and reception as a PS exclusive back in 2015. And for better or worse, the studio head of FromSoftware, Hidetaka Miyazaki, has finally commented on this demand.<\/p>\n

FromSoftware President Addresses Possible Bloodborne Remake<\/h2>\n

Bloodborne has always been a popular entry into the FromSoft catalog, and with the recent success of Elden Ring<\/a>, many players were drawn to give the game a try. And with so many more fans playing the game and subsequently loving it, many fans, new and old, now want a remake of the masterpiece on newer-gen consoles (or a PC port at the very least<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Sadly, news or feedback from the company behind the game, FromSoftware, has always been slim until now when in a recent interview with Eurogamer<\/a>, Hidetaka Miyazaki, the president of the company had some insight to share. In the interview, he was asked about the game, to which he responded, “It is a title we hold very dear and just as much as our fans. It does make me very happy to see that there are still so many people passionate about it.” However, upon being asked about the possibility of a remake, he apologizes and refuses to make any comment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This decision also seemed to be to the displeasure of Miyazaki as he and the team behind Bloodborne hold the game quite close to their hearts, but realistically it seems that the remake doesn’t justify its presence just yet. Miyazaki states “I think having new hardware is a part of what gives these remakes value, things you weren’t able to achieve on previous generations of hardware.”<\/p>\n

This alludes to the fact that there isn’t very much in Bloodborne that the devs weren’t able to execute due to hardware, unlike the PS5 remake of Demon’s Souls which saw tons of improvement over its initial PS3 release. He also touched on accessibility and stated “I think that accessibility is important. I think that can be the driving force between bringing an old game to a new platform.”<\/p>\n

This makes sense too, considering that players can access Bloodborne quite easily on PS5, whereas Demon’s Souls was only on PS3 and players had no other way of playing it, justifying a remake for the PS5. Sadly, it seems that these two factors; Bloodborne’s content not needing to be revamped to enjoy, and it being accessible right now on next-gen consoles work against the justification for a remake.<\/p>\n
