The Stardew Valley 1.6 update<\/a> has arrived following its initial announcement last year on the game’s seventh anniversary<\/a>, followed by a confirmed release date in February 2024<\/a>. The update added a host of new content, including events, new dialogue, more crops, and a new farm type, the Meadowlands Farm, from which players are advised to start a new save file to access this farm type.<\/p>\n

There are plenty of items to discover through exploration to enhance players’ in-game experiences, like the Mystery Boxes, but only a little is known about them, which players are to find out themselves. This guide briefly details what we know so far about the Mystery Boxes, including how to find and open them in Stardew Valley.<\/p>\n

How To Find & Open The Mystery Boxes In Stardew Valley?<\/h2>\n

Stardew Valley’s highly anticipated 1.6 update was finally released on 19th March 2024, which boasted a lengthy changelog<\/a> that outlined all the new content, gameplay features, and bug fixes added to the game. One of the latest content additions available is a new type of lootable item called Mystery Boxes; however, the details of how or where to find them remain up to players to discover in-game.<\/p>\n

Firstly, for players to know immediately if they can begin searching for Mystery Boxes, they must wait for a cutscene to play featuring a man and an aircraft dropping these boxes around the town. Once this event occurs, a pop-up prompt will inform them that the search for these elusive items can begin, and they will naturally start looking for them.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, they won’t find any, as they spawn at random when completing specific activities, namely daily activities and tasks like searching through artifact spots and foraging, like chopping trees for wood and fishing. Doing any of the daily activities and tasks will guarantee the chance of the mystery Boxes appearing, which they can collect and open, but it’s also not as straightforward.<\/p>\n

While they can’t directly open these items from their Inventory, hovering over the item reveals that a Blacksmith can only open these boxes. Head to Clint’s Blacksmith forge and select the option to open these boxes for 25 Gold, and they’ll be able to loot random items inside. <\/p>\n

The official list of items found within the Mystery Boxes has yet to be confirmed as of writing and can be extensive, but some of the items found include seeds, coffee, and Hardwood. We’ll update this guide with a detailed list of the items we’ve discovered from Mystery Boxes so that players know what they may expect to find in these new lootable boxes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
