Cities: Skylines 2<\/a> has had a rocky start. Launching in October 2023 on PC, fans experienced performance issues and noticeable bugs, while also feeling that the base game offerings were lacking compared to its predeccesor. For the most part, though, Cities: Skylines 2 has been reasonably solid, but anticipation for additional content<\/a> has been sky-high.<\/p>\n

One of the game’s initial DLC packs, Beach Properties, was set to add new features. However, upon launch, fans were quickly met with a variety of issues, prompting backlash. In a statement, Paradox developers said, “We see and understand the disappointment many of you have expressed after the release of Cities: Skylines II and the recent release of Beach Properties. We asked for your patience and support, and you’ve shown those. In return, we let you down.”<\/p>\n

The devs went on to say that the “rushed out” DLC “should not have been published in its current form.” As a result, those who purchased the Beach Properties DLC will be refunded, and the pack will be made into a free addition to the base game. Sadly, those who purchased Cities: Skylines 2 Ultimate Edition will not be eligible for a DLC refund, owing to the distribution of the edition across digital and physical storefronts. However, Paradox have pledged to provide additional content to Ultimate Edition purchasers.<\/p>\n
