One of the most critical resources in Manor Lords is fuel, both to keep many of your buildings going and to keep your population safe during the winter. If you keep your focus too spread out early on, it can be easy to get behind on fuel and put yourself in a hole that’s difficult to dig out of in Manor Lords.

Fortunately, keeping your fuel supply high is very manageable with the right strategy. In this Manor Lords guide, we’ll go over how to get fuel including firewood and charcoal to keep your town runing smoothly.

The fastest method that players will turn to when first begging their new settlement is a Woodcutter’s Lodge, and this will be the foundation of your fuel supply at all times. Depending on your start conditions, you may begin with a small stockpile of fuel to help you get through the first winter, but in any case you’ll want to begin gathering it immediately.

Building a Logging Camp should be your first move in any game, but getting a Woodcutter’s Lodge in place is also an early priority. Ensure you’ve got at least one family assigned to it early so you can begin building up a fuel supply, and don’t be afriad to over-assign to these early.

You can even build multiple Woodcutter’s Lodges in different areas near patches of forest, just be sure you’re not stripping away critical trees around a Wild Animal or Berry deposit. Fuel isn’t going to expire, and you can always export the surplus if desired. When you have plenty, move the families to other locations if needed, but try to keep one or two families at a Woodcutter’s Lodge just to be sure they continue maintaining a Marketplace stall, or you’ll struggle to meet the requirements for each Burgage Plot upgrade.

How to Get Fuel in Manor Lords
