The Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 movie is set to release in December 2025<\/strong>, according to an update to Universal’s “Upcoming Films” webpage. The exact release date for the upcoming film is 5 December 2025<\/strong>. With a release date towards the end of this year and during the Christmas season, fans will only need to wait a little under a year to check out the brand new FNAF 2 movie in theaters or on streaming services.  <\/p>\n

The first FNAF movie<\/a> was released to widespread acclaim back in October 2023, smashing box office records and expectations. Blumhouse, the movie’s producers, said they’d come back for a second film if the first one was successful, and that’s exactly what they’re doing. Filming on the second movie started this summer<\/a> in New Orleans, the same place where the first film was made. <\/p>\n

Matthew Lillard, who played Springtrap in the first film and will reprise his role in the second, posted a teaser for the upcoming movie on Instagram featuring a photo of him in his Springtrap suit. “December 2025,” he wrote, “I always come back.”<\/p>\n

Matthew Lillard announced after the first FNAF movie that he signed a three-film contract, so it’s possible that a third FNAF movie could be in the works after the second one’s release. For now, there’s no further news surrounding another possible film after the second one.
