In Diablo 4 Season 4, Helltides have been completely reworked, offering a much more rewarding experience. As part of your Helltide farming and leveling journey, Diablo 4 players will want to get as many Baneful Hearts as possible.

No, you don’t have to channel your inner Lord Zir to farm Baneful Hearts quickly in Diablo 4 Season 4. We’ll explain our tactic for farming this rare resource with haste and what it is used for, so let’s jump in.

Diablo 4 Baneful Hearts: How To Get More Quickly

First and foremost, you should always use your fastest farming build when attempting to get Baneful Hearts quickly in Diablo 4 Season 4. Don’t go for a boss-farming build but instead, focus on movement speed and AOE clearing.

Jump into a Helltide and start down a clear path. We recommend always moving towards either a Tortured Chests or a summoning ritual. Your goal is to kill as many enemies as possible to increase your threat level, thereby getting the attention of a Helltide boss you can kill. You should also sprint to events as soon as you can for more Aberrant Cinders.

Opening Tortured Chests will net you some Baneful Hearts, and killing Helltide bosses will also drop a few.

Pro tip: If you want to make your Baneful Heart farming in Diablo 4 even faster, we suggest using a Profane Mindcage elixir, which increases the Helltide Monster Level by 10 and increases the Aberrant Cinder drop rate and Threat gain.

Baneful Hearts in Diablo 4 Explained

You might see an icon you don’t recognize right next to the Aberrant Cinders icon while you are in a helltide, pushing back the demonic hordes. But what does this icon mean? I have to say, I didn’t know for the first five hours into Diablo 4 Season 4, despite farming Helltides over and over again.

Well, the new icon is for the number of Baneful Hearts you’ve acquired. Simply put, the Baneful Hearts have only one use, and that’s to summon the Blood Maiden at the Accursed Ritual (image above) in a Helltide.

By beating the Blood Maiden and all her followers, you’ll get a boatload of rewards, including multiple Legendary items (sometimes even a unique!), as well as crafting materials and Tempering manuals.

You must have three (3) Baneful Hearts to summon the Blood Maiden, and other players can help you complete the process. you can join in while others are summoning the Blood Maiden to reap those rewards.
