Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga hit cinemas globally on 24th May 2024 which the film centers on the origins of the renegade warrior, Furiosa, who first appeared in Fury Road in 2015. Directed by George Miller, it’s currently received generally positive reviews<\/a>, with praise directed at lead actress Anya Taylor-Joy, the film’s cinematography, and scintillating action sequences.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recently, Miller’s comments in an exclusive interview with GAMINGbible<\/a> gained online attention regarding the 2015 action-adventure Mad Max. The game, which was developed by Avalanche Studios (Just Cause, Rage 2, Generation Zero), was not quite what Miller had in mind, as he revealed he would like to see Hideo Kojima leave his imprint on the Mad Max franchise through another gaming release.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Mad Max creator has a well-documented friendship with the legendary auteur in Kojima, so much so that Miller was recently featured in Kojima’s documentary, Connecting Worlds<\/a> on Disney+. Kojima recently appeared on the red carpet for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga<\/a>, reuniting Miller and Kojima, and as expected, Kojima shared his praise for the film on social media<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Miller recently commented on the Mad Max video game developed by Avalanche Studios, which he believes “wasn’t as good” as he envisioned. He further stated that he’s “one of those people that I’d rather not do something unless you can do it at the highest level, or at least try,” adding that he had been chatting to Kojima.<\/span><\/p>\n

While the context of their conversations remains unknown, Miller revealed that “if he [Kojima] would take it on, but he’s got so much fantastic stuff in his own head that I would never ask him.” While Kojima has yet to comment on Miller’s interest in a Kojima Mad Max game, it has undoubtedly warranted some interest, given Kojima’s meticulous approach, dedication, and passion for video game development.<\/span><\/p>\n

Miller’s comments refer to the projects currently underway at Kojima Productions, including Death Stranding 2: On the Beach<\/a>, the Xbox-exclusive OD<\/a>, and an untitled game for PlayStation Studios<\/a>. Additionally, Kojima will be working closely with A24 on the live-action film adaptation of Death Stranding<\/a>, which has yet to enter production as of this writing.<\/span><\/p>\n
