After a simple anchor emoji for a teaser from Hello Games founder Sean Murray, it’s finally time for players to get excited as No Man’s Sky: Adrift has officially been announced. This major No Man’s Sky update dropped with little warning, and it’s already deployed with a ton of new content thanks to the latest community expedition event.

The news also lands right as PlayStation announced a new State of Play set for Thursday, May 30, 2024 featuring more than a dozen different PS5 and PS VR2 titles. We don’t know for certain which games will get the spotlight, but the timing of the No Man’s Sky: Adrift reveal definitely makes it a candidate for even more announcements.

No Man’s Sky: Adrift will focus on a new alternate and fully abandoned universe. This new limited time sends players somewhere with “no other life forms, no shops, no help.”

While even more content is expected with another No Man’s Sky update planned for this year, the No Man’s Sky: Adrift community expedition marks the thirteenth of its kind as players dive into this desolate galactic wasteland.

You can see the full No Man’s Sky: Adrift trailer below:

No Man’s Sky: Adrift Update 4.70 Released
