Independent developer Landfall Games surprised the gaming community when they launched their co-op survival horror game Content Warning<\/a> on 1st April 2024 (April Fool’s Day). The game was available for free upon release for 24 hours, which saw 6.2 million players owning the game<\/a> before a price tag was confirmed, this resulted in over one million copies sold<\/a>, and now the developer is celebrating another milestone.<\/p>\n

According to a social media post, Content Warning has sold over two million copies worldwide within two months. Additionally, it’s been reported that over eight million players are proud owners of the game on Steam, but it is looking into the horizon of the game’s future.<\/p>\n

Since its launch, Content Warning has quickly risen to the top of the Steam charts, becoming one of the most popular streamed titles across multiple platforms. Its success is evident as the game celebrated its one million copies sold milestone less than two weeks after launch, and now, as announced in a Twitter post, it’s confirmed to have shipped 2.2 million copies.<\/p>\n

What has also been drawing attention to the co-op survival horror game is the developer possibly teasing a potential console launch for Content Warning. While no announcement or confirmation from the developer is available as of this writing, this comes from a response to a post on the game’s success, in which a Twitter user alluded to the game’s potential success on consoles.<\/p>\n

The developer responded with the eyes emoji<\/a>, which certainly caught the attention of its player base. Whether this will be part of future plans for Content Warning<\/a> is worth being excited about, especially considering the game’s recent successes and the units it has shipped thus far; a console launch isn’t too much of a stretch for Landfall Games to pursue.<\/p>\n
