Developer and publisher Daybreak Games has officially announced it has acquired indie studio Singularity 6, the developer behind the cozy MMO Palia. Two official statements from both studios this week confirmed that Singularity 6’s acquisition is “a wholly owned subsidiary.”

Singularity 6 has had a challenging year following rounds of layoffs despite the successful launches of Palia on multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch and on PC via Epic Games Store and Steam. Daybreak Games is currently providing support and developing content and updates for a few notable MMO games, including Everquest, The Lord of the Rings Online, and H1Z1.

The latest acquisition sees Singularity 6 gaining “invaluable support” from Daybreak Games, who has “extensive industry experience and pedigree” within the MMO genre. According to a statement from Daybreak Games CEO Ji Ham, who is thrilled to welcome the developer to Daybreak Games, “S6 is an excellent addition to our development studios, renowned for their success in creating large-scale online games and content.”
