The Sword of Night is one such weapon, and aside from being one of the coolest-looking weapons in the game, it’s also an <\/span>extremely<\/span> effective katana in combat.<\/span><\/p>\n

If<\/span> you’re interested in trying this sword out for your next DLC build<\/span>, we’ve got you covered<\/span>.<\/span> Below, we’ll show you exactly how to get the Sword of Night, its abilities, and stats in Elden Ring Shadow of The Erdtree.<\/span><\/p>\n

How To Get Sword of Night In Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree<\/span><\/h2>\n

To obtain the Sword of Night in Shadow of The Erdtree, <\/span>you’ll<\/span> need to embark on a <\/span>fairly<\/span> lengthy quest that takes you through some challenging areas on the map. However, <\/span>it’s<\/span> well worth the effort, as <\/span>it’s<\/span> one of the most <\/span>powerful<\/span> weapons in the game—a significant claim considering the current meta includes strong backhand blades<\/a>, great katanas<\/a>, and thrusting shields<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Shadow
To start the quest for the Sword of Night, you need to head to Manus Metyr and speak to Count Ymir. (Picture: Shane \/ FromSoftware)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Start your journey by visiting the Cathedral of Manus Metyr in western Scadu Altus (as shown on the map). There, <\/span>you’ll<\/span> find an NPC named Count Ymir seated on a throne. Speaking to him will initiate a series of quests involving multiple Finger Ruins throughout the Land of Shadow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Initially, Count Ymir will give you a map and a Hole-Laden Necklace. <\/span>You must take<\/span> these to the Finger Ruins of Rhia, accessible via the Southern Shore region. Upon arrival, approach the bell in the center of the ruins to receive the Crimson Seed Talisman +1.<\/span><\/p>\n

Return to Count Ymir to receive a new map and Beloved Stardust, which <\/span>you’ll<\/span> need to take to the Finger Ruins of Dheo. You can reach this location by interacting with a statue near the Back Gate Site of Grace in Shadow Keep. Use the<\/span> “<\/span>O Mother<\/span>” <\/span>gesture<\/span><\/a><\/span> in the room next to the site of grace to open a new passageway.<\/span><\/p>\n

This passage leads to the Hinterlands, directing you to the Finger Ruins of Dheo. Again, interact with the bell in the center to receive the Cerulean Seed Talisman +1. Take this back to Count Ymir to <\/span>receive<\/span> the final map, which will not require extensive travel.<\/span><\/p>\n

After receiving the map, rest at a site of Grace to reset the area. When you approach the throne, Ymir will be gone. Interact with the throne to reveal a hidden stairway to the Finger Ruins of Miyr. <\/span>Here, <\/span>you’ll<\/span> need to defeat the boss, Metyr, Mother of Fingers.<\/span> With adequate levels and enough Scadutree Fragments, <\/span>she’s<\/span> one of the easier <\/span>major<\/span> bosses in the DLC.<\/span><\/p>\n

After defeating Metyr, return and interact with the throne again to summon the Swordhand of Night Jolan invader, who <\/span>must also be defeated<\/span>. Following his defeat, Count Ymir will respawn as a boss, requiring you to <\/span>defeat<\/span> him as well<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Count Ymir, Mother of Fingers, is a Remembrance Boss in Elden Ring<\/a> Shadow of The Erdtree, but she <\/span>doesn’t<\/span> have much HP<\/span>, so<\/span> you can defeat him quickly with high-damage spells or abilities. The main challenge is dealing with the Fingercreepers he spawns, but they <\/span>aren’t<\/span> too difficult if you stay focused and avoid getting swarmed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once Count Ymir is defeated, fast travel away and return to the throne room one last time. <\/span>You’ll<\/span> find Jolan leaning against the wall. If <\/span>you’ve<\/span> found the Iris of Grace <\/span>and\/or<\/span> Iris of Occultation items during your journey, you can give her one of them. Choose the Iris of Occultation, and when Jolan perishes, loot the glowing item she leaves behind <\/span>to finally receive the Sword of Night<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you <\/span>haven’t<\/span> found an Iris of Occultation yet, you can <\/span>easily<\/span> obtain one by defeating the Lesser Omenkiller in the Fort of Reprimand in Scadu Altus. Alternatively, you can defeat a Lesser Ulcerated Spirit in the Shadow <\/span>Keep’s<\/span> Church District, though this can be more tedious, so the Lesser Omenkiller <\/span>is recommended<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now that you have the Sword of Night, <\/span>you’ll<\/span> want to know its stats and specs. <\/span>It’s<\/span> a light weapon that scales with Dexterity and features the Witching Hour Slash<\/a>, a fast and flashy move. <\/span>Here’s<\/span> a breakdown of its specs:<\/span><\/p>\n
