Marvel Snap developer Second Dinner recently released the latest season for the popular card battler game, going full “Maximum Effort” with new in-game content and more cards and variants to add to the Collection and Albums<\/a>. This season will see five more cards arriving to the game, with Gwenpool<\/a> and Hydra Bob<\/a> already available from the Season Pass, Spotlight Caches<\/a>, and Token Shop, respectively; however, the developer made one late adjustment for its forthcoming release.<\/p>\n

The villainous Ajax, scheduled to be released sometime during the season, was initially intended to be released as a five-Cost and five Power card but has been adjusted according to a recent announcement by the developer. The late balance change will be reflected as such across the game, the Marvel Snap website, and the upcoming blog, with more details to follow.<\/p>\n

Within Marvel Comics<\/a>, Ajax (or Frances) has crossed paths with Wade Wilson\/Deadpool<\/a> over the years until his unfortunate demise at the hands of the Merc with a Mouth. This will happen again, but in Marvel Snap, he’ll arrive as one of the next card releases for the “Maximum Effort” season, but with a new change.<\/p>\n

According to a recent announcement on the official Marvel Snap Discord channel, the developer has made a late balance change to the card, making it a five-Cost and seven-Powered card instead of a five-Powered card. While the card will retain its ability, the reason behind the recent balance change hasn’t been explained, as the developer will detail it in an upcoming blog post with the responses varied within the Marvel Snap community, ranging from “Snap” to “Pass.”<\/p>\n

Some players have increased their interest<\/a> in getting Ajax to pair him with core cards like Hazmat<\/a>, Scorpion<\/a>, US Agent<\/a>, and Cassandra Nova<\/a> for early deck builds for Ajax. Others are simply skipping Ajax<\/a> as he can be countered by Luke Cage<\/a>, Rogue<\/a>, and Enchantress<\/a>, making the card feel less impactful at release.<\/p>\n

Either way, Second Dinner will address the late card adjustment to Ajax in the next blog post, likely an OTA<\/a> that may be arriving to Marvel Snap shortly.
