The Field Guide is one of the most important tools players can own and use during their sky-bound adventures in Aloft<\/a>. This book provides a series of objectives and is primarily used to study and learn more about an island’s ecosystem once it has been freed from corruption.<\/p>\n

While its purpose has been clearly outlined, how players can obtain the Field Guide left many puzzled, but a search through the game’s Discord server explains how to get it. This expeditious guide will help players learn how to get and use the Field Guide in clearing corruption in Aloft.<\/p>\n

How To Find And Use The Field Guide In Aloft?<\/h2>\n

Once players have explored many floating islands throughout the archipelago in search of resources, Knowledge Stones, and murals, they can begin progressing with the game by clearing the corruption from certain islands. The first corrupted island they’ll find should give players an understanding of how the combat mechanics work as they defeat the mushroom enemies that spawn from the large node, which they must destroy.<\/p>\n

When the enemies are defeated, they can obtain Mykter Fibre<\/a> and the node is destroyed; their next objective is to study the island’s ecology, which can be done using the Field Guide. While it’s not explicitly stated how players can craft the Field Guide, it was detailed in the game’s official Discord server that the Field Guide can be crafted within their Inventory when hitting the TAB key by placing two Leaf Clothes, one piece of Paper and one Rope into the hopper to learn the blueprint.<\/p>\n

To obtain Rope, they must receive Mykter Fibre from defeating the mushroomed enemies before combining two fibers to gain the blueprint for Rope and craft it. Once they’ve learned the Field Guide blueprint, they can craft the book before equipping it to the assigned key on their hotbar and beginning to use it.<\/p>\n

Return to the formerly corrupted island and bring out the Field Guide, holding the right mouse button to study the ecosystem. It will give players a series of objectives to complete, which vary from island to island, to restore the island’s ecology to 100%.<\/p>\n

If they’ve restored the island’s ecosystem, it will flourish, and its biodiversity will return, with new plants, flora, and fungi to forage. Certain islands will have animals appear, for which they can feed them with Hay and pet them before bringing them to their home island by building a bridge to connect the islands or moving their Skyship closer and taking a leap of faith to land on their home island and place them in a pen.<\/p>\n
