Dead by Daylight’s new 2v8 mode coming this July removes add-ons and other key features from the core game, but adds in some interesting new mechanics: survivor classes and killer skills. Survivors can choose a class that grants them with a range of related abilities, while killers will be granted with a boosted version of their base abilities. Here’s all of the survivor classes in the 2v8 mode, as well as what new skills each killer has.

As you probably guessed, the Medic is the team healer. While Medics can’t automatically Self-Care or grant their team that ability – sorry, old Circle of Healing fans – they can still grant their fellow survivors some pretty awesome healing boosts. The Medic will help nearby survivors heal more quickly, as well as be able to find those hurt survivors more easily to make the most impact throughout the trial.

The Guide can help bring teams together, allowing all survivors to synergize their abilities. Most survivor classes have some sort of boost provided by working with teammates, so having a Guide to help everyone locate the team can be greatly helpful. The Guide can also help with getting survivors’ most important objective – generators – done, since they can see the machines’ auras and will be able to repair them faster thanks to skill check buffs.

While the Guide excels in showing teams where to gather, the Scout excels in identifying the killers’ locations and telling fellow survivors where not to go. Not only can the Guide see the killers at key moments, they also make no sound when hurt, allowing them to sneak away and inform other survivors of the threat.

The Escapist is essentially the chase class, allowing players of this class to easily escape encounters with the killers and help their teammates do the same. Players who choose the Escapist role will have a Sprint Burst that can be shared with other survivors, and are also equipped with what is essentially Kate Denson’s Windows of Opportunity perk, allowing them to see windows and pallets. If you always pick a chase build as survivor, this class is for you.

The Trapper becomes an upgraded version of himself with more traps that he can set more quickly. He’s also able to help out teammates with speed boosts from setting his own Traps, helping him synergize with other killers more in this unique mode.

Like the Trapper, the Wraith appears as a boosted version of himself in DBD’s 2v8 mode. Not only can he use his key power, cloaking and uncloaking, more quickly, but he can also make his teammates undetectable. This can create some awesome opportunities for stealth approaches in 2v8.

In 2v8, the Huntress still has her hatchets – in fact, she has even more than usual, and hitting survivors with them will reveal their auras. She can also reload more quickly and more faster without her hatchets if she happens to run out, equipping her for more fast-paced gameplay.

Dead by Daylight 2v8 Survivor Classes
