For years, college players have had the option to use a redshirt to extend their playing career for various reasons. College Football 25 brings this in using the standard rule of players needing to play four or fewer games to earn a redshirt, but making sure that happens can be difficult. While the general strategy in Road to Glory<\/a> remains consistent, we’ve figured out the best school to redshirt for every position in College Football 25.<\/p>\n

Best School to Redshirt in College Football 25<\/h2>\n

You can find a full guide on how to redshirt in Road to Glory here<\/a>, but this time we’re taking a closer look at the schools which improve your odds. Every position is different, as what you’re really trying to find is the existing roster that puts your player furthest down the depth chart in your first year. This tends to be easiest with quarterbacks, but we’ve found a perfect pick for each position in College Football 25<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The best school to get a redshirt season with a quarterback is going to be Texas, and that’s because the QB1 and QB2 are already very highly rated. Quinn Ewers is a 92 OVR, and just behind him is Arch Manning with an 87 OVR. As long as you stick to the plan and fail any potential position battle that pops up, you should stay on the bench all year even as an Elite prospect.<\/p>\n

For those playing at halfback, it gets a bit more challenging since they get swapped out more frequently. The best bet is going to be Florida State, as they’ve got four halfbacks on the roster at an 81 OVR or higher. Just make sure not to spend Skill Points during your first season, and even Elite prospects should have a shot, though a Blue Chip start would improve your odds even more.<\/p>\n

The hardest position to redshirt is going to be wide receiver, as the extensive depth chart and tendency to swap players in for special teams can make staying on the bench a challenge. Just like quarterbacks, you should try your luck at Texas. They’ve got six receivers on the depth chart with an 80 OVR or higher, so there’s a chance you could redshirt as an Elite prospect. There are two more wideouts off the depth chart with a 71 OVR or higher, so a Contributor or Underdog start will boost your chances. <\/p>\n

On the defensive side, anyone using a middle linebacker should go with Georgia. That squad already has five 80 OVR or higher middle linebackers, but keep an eye on your games played stats just in case you get subbed in during a simulated game. Cornerbacks should try Texas A&M since they’ve got six 78 OVR or higher players already, but both players using either defensive option may wanna go with a Blue Chip or Contributor start to ensure a redshirt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
