The weapons and combat system of Soulframe were showcased at the recent TennoCon 2024, and needless to say, there&#8217;s a lot of promise for when the game fully releases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In the sections below, we&#8217;ll discuss exactly what the weapons and combat features looked like based on what we saw in the devstream, as well as what we expect to see upon release. So, without further delay, let&#8217;s dive right in.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Soulframe Weapon and Combat System Details We Know So Far<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Now that more gameplay has been revealed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/video-games\/soulframe-hands-off-preview-dark-souls-meet-warframe\">for Soulframe<\/a>, we&#8217;ve been treated to a more detailed look at arguably some of the most important aspects of any action RPG: the weapons and combat mechanics. Based on the short gameplay sections <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">we saw<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> in the dev stream, it seems that Soulframe will take a more <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">methodical<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> approach to combat, focusing on exploration and crafting for its weaponry.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/pyCPR0YuQ7GxkGZktcqEo0VC4K2ylWuVzKKgpfKWURA\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMy82NjllYzgwZjdlZmNlLVNvdWxmcmFtZUNvbWJhdFN5c3RlbU1vcmVTbG93UGFjZWQuanBn\" alt=\"Soulframe Combat System Slower pace\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption contenteditable=\"false\">Soulframe will feature a slower combat loop as opposed to its sister game Warframe. (Picture: Digital Extremes)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Combat in Soulframe will be slower than its sister game, Warframe<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, and will<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> focus more heavily on players&#8217; positioning during battle, as well as using the weapons and abilities you gain <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">to carefully engage with enemies<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. This also extends to your Pact, Soulframe&#8217;s version of a character class represented by the unique arm that your character has in the game and is interchangeable with other arms or Pacts you unlock.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The combat, at least to me, feels more akin to the Souls-like genre, in which you need to carefully decide how you engage in battle, bait out enemies, pick off the weaker ones, manage your weapon and ability cooldowns\/wind-up times, and ultimately use foresight to win fights against groups and bosses rather than rushing in and hoping for the best.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/r1TsQpxd88koFTWiPaz-bmyzBsNvER4O8X0NKFwE-w0\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMy82NjllYzgwZjdmZjQwLVNvdWxmcmFtZVdlYXBvbnNEZXRhaWxlZC5qcGc\" alt=\"Soulframe Weapons Details\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption contenteditable=\"false\">The weapons in Soulframe will also be tailored to suit this slower pace style of combat and learning to synergize them with your innate abilities will be crucial. (Picture: Digital Extremes)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Of course, there could be weapons and abilities that reward more aggressive gameplay (as we still need to see the game in its full release state), but based on the gameplay we&#8217;ve seen, it&#8217;s slower, heavier, and more deliberate. Thankfully, slow and <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">deliberate<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> doesn&#8217;t mean boring, as you <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">have access to<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> tons of weapons and a unique weapon system to use to your advantage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Players will find fragments of weapons <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">in the world<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, which they can bring to the Ancestor Tuvalkane. (Picture: Digital Extremes)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.soulframe.com\/en\/news\/soulframe-devstream-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">According to the developers<\/a>, as you forge and assemble more weapons, Tuvalkane will become less insecure about her crafting abilities and gain more confidence. This could mean that her crafting abilities get better, or she can add new effects to your weapons. The jury&#8217;s still out on that one, but it&#8217;s an interesting and exciting feature we&#8217;re looking forward to.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ultimately, both the weapon crafting and combat mechanics will work hand in hand to create a cohesive combat experience in Soulframe, and we&#8217;re excited to see more from it once the game releases later this year.
