The Double Pass Rail can set you up for a bomb downfield so long as the defense doesn’t demolish you before you can get the pass off. You’ll find this play in the Gun Trips formation, and we’ll go over which playbooks have access below. Before you try it in a game, it’s best to head into Practice Mode to feel out the timing.<\/p>\n

You won’t have control until the ball is with your wideout, and if a defender heads straight for him it can stop this one before you ever get into a throwing motion. You’ll have a little more luck if you’re further to the left-hand side of the field which allows a bit more room for the passer. Be careful with placement, and if you have time let your player set their throwing stance before hitting the receiver button to increase your accuracy. You’ll risk a wonky throw, but sometimes a quick lob or touch pass can work out if the defense is too close.<\/p>\n

If you’ve got a moment while a defender is closing in, they’ll sometimes bite on a pump fake<\/a> that gives you extra time to throw and your receiver extra time to create space. If you’re building a team in Dynasty Mode<\/a>, you can also switch a player’s position at the start of the season if you wanna ensure someone has the throwing and receiving stats to make this more accessible.<\/p>\n
