Voice chat could be coming to Dead by Daylight<\/strong><\/a> sooner than later, recent leaks suggest. Dead by Daylight dataminer and leaker LeaksbyDaylight mentioned on X\/Twitter that voice chat files have been added to the game<\/strong> as of the most recent update, which added new Castlevania survivor Trevor Belmont and killer Dracula.<\/p>\n

Files for VOICE CHAT have been added in the latest Dead by Daylight update, at the moment it is not known when it will be activated but it is an option that Behaviour Interactive is working on!#dbd<\/a>#deadbydaylight<\/a>#dbdleaks<\/a>#leaksdbd<\/a>#gaming<\/a>#games<\/a>#ps5<\/a>#xboxgamepass<\/a>#horror<\/a><\/p>\n

While voice chat-related files have been found in the game’s code, this contradicts developers claims a few years ago that they “have no plan to add a voice chat” to Dead by Daylight.<\/p>\n

We have no plan to add a voice chat and regarding the matchmaking, we understand that it is incredibly frustrating, but rest assured the team are putting all their effort into it.<\/p>\n

It’s possible that developers could be adding voice chat to enhance new popular modes like 2v8<\/a>, which will likely come back for a future iteration. This would allow killers to chat with one another verbally and make more coordinated moves in a mode that requires lots of quick decision-making. It would also let survivors tell one another what they’re planning on doing, or even point out an incoming killer when they’re in proximity of each other. <\/p>\n

Some say that this would add an element of realism to the game, and make it more fun for players on both sides:<\/p>\n

While voice chat could potentially be used in various ways to improve gameplay for survivors and killers alike, many players have also pointed out potential problems with a voice chat system in Dead by Daylight. It could enable players to be even more toxic than the in-game text chat allows, and could impact the game’s balance, which is designed around players having limited communication.<\/p>\n

Balance wise I agree DBD shouldn’t have voice chat since BHVR has balanced it mostly around soloq since soloq\/duoq is the biggest part of the playerbase if I remember the statistics correctly. Otherwise I’d love to have it for goofy momentos with randoms.<\/p>\n

Dead by Daylight players’ opinions are very mixed on the idea of adding voice chat, but it seems like developers might be stepping closer to including the highly-debated feature to the game.
