Monster Hunter Wilds<\/a>‘ latest beasts are not for the faint of heart, especially if you suffer from arachnophobia, with Capcom introducing the giant spider Lala Barina alongside the Scarlet Forest, a brand-new locale for players to explore.<\/p>\n

Debuting with an action-filled new trailer at Gamescom, the Scarlet Forest is a unique location within the Forbidden Lands, Monster Hunter Wilds’ main region. Unlike other areas revealed in the game, the Scarlet Forest is a more contained section with lush greenery and a steady flow of water across the land, although it features a red tint to it.<\/p>\n

Here, players will find the creepy Lala Barina, a spider-like creature part of the Temnoceran classification. Temnocerans are beasts with arachnoid features that are not often seen in Monster Hunter games, with only six monsters in previous games.<\/p>\n

Lala Barina wasn’t the only monster showcased during Gamescom, as the trailer also debuted Rey Dau, the apex monster of the Windward Plains. While Capcom didn’t exactly reveal how apex monsters will exactly work in Wilds, a blog post<\/a> on Sony’s site detailed that they will show up during a region’s Inclemency period.<\/p>\n

Inclemencies are big ecological events that will alter a region’s ecosystem completely. In the case of the Windward Plains, where players will be able to battle Rey Dau, the specific Inclemency is a rolling sandstorm with thunder known as the Sandtide. <\/p>\n
