{"id":66893,"date":"2024-08-22T08:06:02","date_gmt":"2024-08-22T08:06:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/og-amkal-blast-fall-showdown"},"modified":"2024-08-22T09:17:49","modified_gmt":"2024-08-22T09:17:49","slug":"og-amkal-blast-fall-showdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/counter-strike-2\/og-amkal-blast-fall-showdown","title":{"rendered":"OG &#038; AMKAL Triumph in Upsets at BLAST Fall Showdown 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With 16 &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/counter-strike-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Counter-Strike 2 (CS2)<\/a> teams at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/counter-strike-2\/blast-fall-showdown-results-bracket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024<\/a> competing for only two spots in the Fall Final, there&#8217;s a lot on the line, and the pressure can get to some teams while others thrive.<\/p>\n<p>On the first day of the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, we saw FaZe Clan efficiently despatch Rare Atom with a clean 2-0, and then two upsets occurred in a row, leaving my mouth hanging open.<\/p>\n<p>First off, OG (ranked 48th) took out HEROIC (ranked 15th) with a 2-0 sweep, winning 13-10 on Anubis and 13-11 on Nuke. OG&#8217;s Romanian M&#259;d&#259;lin-Andrei &#8220;MoDo&#8221; Mirea topped the scoreboard and pulled off some fantastic plays, such as four dualies kills to open up Nuke in style.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rsp-embed-container twitch-embed\" contenteditable=\"false\">\n<div class=\"container twitch-embed-container\" style=\"position: relative; width: 100%; height: 0; padding-bottom: 56.25%;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"66c6f64a2fa6d\" style=\"position: absolute; left: 0; top: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/clips.twitch.tv\/embed?clip=BlatantColdSquirrelRalpherZ-sW8wp-Cv4R4Dg0Yv&amp;parent=admin.www.ginx.tv\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\nlet url7483 = \"https:\/\/clips.twitch.tv\/embed?clip=BlatantColdSquirrelRalpherZ-sW8wp-Cv4R4Dg0Yv&parent=\" + window.location.hostname;<\/p>\n<p>document.getElementById(\"66c6f64a2fa6d\").src = url7483;\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>If you thought that was enough of an upset for the first day of BLAST Fall Showdown 2024, you would be wrong.<\/p>\n<p>AMKAL Esports, ranked 53rd, took on Swedish side NIP (ranked 18th), and we couldn&#8217;t believe our eyes. On AMKAL&#8217;s map pick of Inferno, they got off to a flying start on the T side and put immense pressure on NIP. One of my favorite highlights was AMKAL&#8217;s lurker and IGL, Vladislav &#8220;Krad&#8221; Kravchenko, clicking heads for an Ace in the final round of the first half.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"rsp-embed-container twitch-embed\" contenteditable=\"false\">\n<div class=\"container twitch-embed-container\" style=\"position: relative; width: 100%; height: 0; padding-bottom: 56.25%;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"66c700aa9f887\" style=\"position: absolute; left: 0; top: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/clips.twitch.tv\/embed?clip=ChillyLongCarabeefTF2John-3R11shRk3FS3gF1F&amp;parent=admin.www.ginx.tv\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\nlet url5317 = \"https:\/\/clips.twitch.tv\/embed?clip=ChillyLongCarabeefTF2John-3R11shRk3FS3gF1F&parent=\" + window.location.hostname;<\/p>\n<p>document.getElementById(\"66c700aa9f887\").src = url5317;\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>NIP couldn&#8217;t recover on Inferno as AMKAL closed out the map 13-3. NIP did, however, recover on their map pick of Ancient after a potent T side in the first half of play. Ancient ended 13-3, leaving us with a third and deciding map, Vertigo&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>In the first half of Vertigo, NIP pulled ahead slightly, but AMKAL responded in kind, resulting in a 12-12 score, with overtime required to separate the sides.<\/p>\n<p>My favorite was four kills from Russian rifler Igor &#8220;Forester&#8221; Bezotecheskiy to earn AMKAL a solid 14-12 lead in the first overtime.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rsp-embed-container twitch-embed\" contenteditable=\"false\">\n<div class=\"container twitch-embed-container\" style=\"position: relative; width: 100%; height: 0; padding-bottom: 56.25%;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"66c701ea56019\" style=\"position: absolute; left: 0; top: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/clips.twitch.tv\/embed?clip=EphemeralSoftBadgerMau5-RuCY_DX0W0rbYgch&amp;parent=admin.www.ginx.tv\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\nlet url9359 = \"https:\/\/clips.twitch.tv\/embed?clip=EphemeralSoftBadgerMau5-RuCY_DX0W0rbYgch&parent=\" + window.location.hostname;<\/p>\n<p>document.getElementById(\"66c701ea56019\").src = url9359;\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>Despite NIP pushing back and forcing double overtime, they couldn&#8217;t close out Vertigo, as AMKAL emerged victorious with a 19-17 score, ending the series 2-1 and eliminating NIP from the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to OG and AMKAL for pulling off upsets.
