About halfway through the game, you&#8217;ll encounter a true skill-check boss named Jiequan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Jiequan is significantly <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">more difficult<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> than any previous boss, requiring you to fully utilize all the abilities you&#8217;ve acquired up to this point to secure victory. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In this<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> guide<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, we&#8217;ll<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> show you how to find Jiequan and provide a detailed breakdown of defeating this formidable boss in Nine Sols.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1i61895345\">Nine Sols <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Jiequan <\/span>Boss Location<\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Jiequan is the boss you&#8217;ll take on after defeating Yanlao. While your first encounter with him will result in <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">being defeated and captured<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, you will quickly escape confinement and make your way toward the boss. This is optional and won&rsquo;t significantly affect the strategy for the fight overall<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, but if<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> you&#8217;re looking for a few free hits, it&rsquo;s recommended that you <strong>find the Gene Eradicator<\/strong>, a special item that can weaken Jiequan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">To find it, head to the door sealed by two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/nine-sols\/guardian-statues\">Guardian Statues<\/a> in the Factory Production Area. These two Guardian Statues require you to use the recently obtained Unbounded Counter, which allows you to deflect crimson attacks. Once both statues are dealt with, the door will unlock, and inside you will find the Gene Eradicator.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/2JLhjAU6wd5eznWHEpWojo-Jvy9CKE3Vfo6H3_6Az6M\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMy82NmNlNTgxNTkwYmE5LVdlYWtlbmluZy5qcGc\" alt=\"Jiequan Optional weakening with Gene Eradicator\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption contenteditable=\"false\">You can choose to weaken Jeiquan for your fight by finding the Gene Eradicator and injecting it into his Transmutation Crucible. (Picture: Shane \/ Red Candle Games)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Once you have this item, proceed to Shengwu Hall, and before the fight, place the Gene Eradicator into the Transmutation Crucible (the pod where Jiequan is resting). Doing so will cause Jiequan to stop combat during certain sections of the fight to cough up blood, as you&rsquo;ve <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">essentially<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> poisoned him. If you don&rsquo;t use it, Jiequan will only stop when staggered as usual, so the choice is yours.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1i5cqo23p7\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Jiequan <\/span>Boss Overview<\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Jiequan is a two-phase boss fight. After depleting his first health bar, he powers up and gains additional health. Aside from a teleportation ability, he doesn&rsquo;t gain any new moves, so he&rsquo;s not a true <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/nine-sols\/nine-sols-yanlao-boss-guide\">two-phase boss<\/a>. Let&rsquo;s <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">take a<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> look at the abilities Jiequan will use during both phases and discuss the best strategies to defeat him.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1i61895346\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Jiequan<\/span> Attacks And Abilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Spear Combo<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; Jiequan performs a three-strike combo with a spear, with the final attack being slightly delayed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Spear Crash<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; Jiequan leaps into the air with his spear and then stabs forward as he crashes to the ground towards you.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Guandao Slam<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; Jiequan jumps into the air, switches to a Guandao, and performs a heavy overhead swing <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">down towards<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> you.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Crimson Guandao Slam<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; Jiequan charges his Guandao with crimson energy before swinging it overhead and crashing it to the ground on top of you. If not parried, it will spawn two crimson tornadoes that move to opposite ends of the arena, leaving fire on the ground as they travel.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Crimson Spear Dash<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; Jiequan charges the spear with crimson energy before dashing forward, attempting to impale you.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sword Thrust<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; Jiequan summons a sword from behind him, which <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">has a slight delay<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> before being launched forward.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Kunai Burst<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; Jiequan spawns three Kunai around him that then fly towards your location at rapid speed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Spike Explosives<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; Jiequan throws explosives across the arena that explode after a short delay, dealing AoE damage if you are caught in the blast.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Shield Regeneration<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; Jiequan spawns a shield around himself and takes a sip from his teapot to regain <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">some<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> health.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Teleportation (Phase 2 only)<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; Jiequan begins teleporting around the arena to catch you off guard.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1i5n4h6la1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Jiequan Boss<\/span>&nbsp;Fight Overview<\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In the fight against Jiequan, you don&rsquo;t need to wait for the perfect opportunity to strike, unlike <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/nine-sols\/goumang-boss-guide\">many other bosses<\/a>. Instead, focus on staying as close to him as possible. This approach has two benefits: first, if you&rsquo;ve used the Gene Eradicator, you&#8217;ll be close enough to deliver a few hits or an <a href=\"https:\/\/ninesols.fandom.com\/wiki\/Yi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Azure Bow<\/a> shot when he pauses to cough. Second, staying close lets you counter any attacks that can be <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">parried<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/C_0ibRLq9ydWuOP84VfQ-FLyeQGTQuwMVCliL5ZNFis\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMy82NmNlNTgxNGQ1NGU4LU9wZW5pbmcgUGhhc2UgQW5kIFN0cmF0ZWd5LmpwZw\" alt=\"Jiequan opening attacks and strategy\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption contenteditable=\"false\">Whether you&#8217;ve weakened Jiequan or not, the general strategy is to stay close to him and bait out the attacks you can parry. (Picture: Shane \/ Red Candle Games)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Maintaining proximity also reduces the risk of getting hit by his Spear Crash attack, which has a large hitbox and can catch you even if you time your parry correctly. Therefore, stay close and parry his Spear Combos (which are initially challenging but become easier with practice), as well as his Guandao Slam and Sword Thrust, the latter of which has a slight delay.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As you inflict more damage, Jiequan will become more aggressive and use his Crimson Guandao Slam and <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Crimson<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Spear Dash. For the Crimson Spear Dash, it&rsquo;s recommended to jump over it or use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/nine-sols\/tai-chi-kick\">Tai Chi kick parry<\/a>, as his hitbox is quite large and Unbounded Counter may not always be feasible. The Guandao Slam has a clear build-up, so you can prepare and use Unbounded Counter to stagger him for some free hits.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/BUp7Sm6xROx2fDEmAB3cuHmbLWl6U7lxEtonQmWUDjw\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMy82NmNlNTgxNTkxYzVkLVVzaW5nIENvdW50ZXJzIEFzIE11Y2ggQXMgUG9zc2libGUuanBn\" alt=\"Jiequan strategy and tips\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption contenteditable=\"false\">The best times to punish Jiequan are during his crimson attacks, which you can parry with the Unbounded Counter, and between his other attacks&mdash;though you&#8217;ll need to be careful. (Picture: Shane \/ Red Candle Games)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">If you miss the counter or are far away when he performs the attack, stay on one side of the arena to avoid the mini crimson tornadoes and flames, then dash in and move through the area to a safer spot. Kunai Burst can be parried mid-air, which is more reliable. Lastly, avoid the Spike Explosives as they can stun-lock you; jump over them as soon as they hit the ground and dash toward Jiequan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">His Shield Regeneration can be destroyed with a charged sword strike, so be sure to charge it up as soon as you see him activate the barrier to limit his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/nine-sols\/increase-health-healing\">health recovery<\/a>. When dealing with his teleportation, use it to your advantage by drawing him away from areas affected by Crimson Guandao Slam or Spike Explosives.
