Apex Legends season 22 has been jam-packed with new content and updates, and the next new announcement on the list is the Knockout mode. New modes are always interesting and tend to switch things up from round to round, but each and every one has its own set of rules and unique gameplay.

Before jumping into a match for any new mode, it’s important to read up on what that new mode is all about if you want to make the most of your first battle. Here’s everything you need to know about Apex Legends’ new Knockout mode, including what gameplay will look like and when it’s scheduled to arrive in the game.

At the Apex Legends Global Series Split 2 Playoffs this year, Respawn developers revealed the upcoming Knockout mode. While details are still sparse, lead weapons designer Eric Canavase provided some insight into what fans can expect from the mode, calling it a “fun new twist on the battle royale.”

Canvase explained the mode as having various capture points that players will fight over. Legends will also be able to earn points through kills – as per usual – and at the end of each match, the teams with the fewest kills will be eliminated. Though kills will earn you points, respawns are infinite – so while the player in the lead always has a chance to keep their standing, they can often lose it with ease, too.

Apex Legends Knockout Mode Gameplay
