During Chapter 4 of The Plucky Squire, you’ll end up in a swamp and will need to get past some cute frogs blocking your way. To get past them, Jot will need to use his knowledge of words – and the storybook he’s a part of – to switch up the phrases in the book. Here’s how to get past the frogs in the swamp in The Plucky Squire<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

How To Get Past The Frogs In The Swamp<\/h2>\n

When you first arrive in the swamp, you’ll see the message: “It was now daytime<\/strong> in the swamps.” Singing frogs will be blocking your paths in several directions, suggesting that you’ll have to do something to get them to move.<\/p>\n

The frogs only sit here during the day and instead sing at night, so changing it to nighttime should fix that; recall that you saw a word about “nighttime” on the previous page. Flip back to the previous page and grab the ‘nighttime’ word.<\/p>\n

Replace ‘daytime’ on the page with the frogs with ‘night.’ This will change the scene and cause the frogs to shift positions.<\/p>\n

You’ll need to replace the phrase nighttime.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Now, you’ll be able to get past the frogs and enter the area on the right side of the screen. You’ll realize that though you can now see a bridge, you can’t pass it due to not having the word ‘Solid’ – but a frog is blocking that path. Switch ‘night’ back to daytime.<\/p>\n

Now, push the large block from the bottom left area to the top left, placing it on the silver switch.<\/p>\n

You can get past the gate by moving the block.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This will open up the gate above, allowing you to access the word ‘Solid<\/strong>.’ This new word you’ve unlocked is the key to progressing.<\/p>\n

You’ll need to place the word ‘Solid’ on the right side of the page to fix up the bridge.<\/p>\n

The bridge is solid, meaning that it’s finally fixed.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

But while it’s nighttime, frogs will be blocking your way. So, before switching it back to daytime one more time, next to the sleeping frog on the left side of the area with the little portal.<\/p>\n

You can see where to place the block just below:<\/p>\n

Now that you’ve moved the block from earlier, this will prevent these frogs from moving and blocking your path when you switch it back to daytime, which you’ll now do.<\/p>\n

Now, you should be able to get past all of the frogs blocking the bridge. Head down into the cave to complete the level and move onwards!<\/p>\n
