Phasmophobia (@PlayPhasmo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PlayPhasmo\/status\/1835698931302330861?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 16, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>So, yes, Phasmophobia will have voice chat from day one. However, there&#8217;s a caveat. Developers also noted that <strong>the ghost, Spirit Box, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/phasmophobia\/ouija-board-questions\">Ouija Board<\/a>, and Monkey Paw won&#8217;t support voice recognition <\/strong>on release.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, the ghost won&#8217;t be able to hear players, even when they&#8217;re using ghost-hunting tools &#8211; but players will be able to hear their fellow ghost hunters. However, in place of voice recognition, developers have offered players a &#8220;very easy-to-use&#8221; preset text pop-up option &#8211; no typing needed. For example, when using the Ouija Board, or Spirit Box players will be prompted with pre-written questions such as, &#8220;Are you friendly? Where are you? Is anyone there?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The preset text pop-up feature is already available in the PC version of the game as an optional toggle. This allows players to enjoy the game without a microphone.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/wKtO6N-1V6_cpl2X4lV_VUNkesDb3YZ_KRci77WlSS4\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMy82NmU4YmRiNThhOWYzLWhvdyBvbGRsLnBuZw\" alt=\"chat box phasmophobia\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption contenteditable=\"false\">In place of voice recognition, ghost-hunting tools will use in-game text menus.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;We are working on a solution for [the lack of voice recognition],&#8221; the team explained in the FAQ, though developers haven&#8217;t provided any particular timeline for when voice recognition may come to consoles. Though developers have offered the temporary in-game text menus to remedy the situation for now, voice recognition is important for the game to function properly, so it&#8217;s likely Kinetic Games will endeavor to add it in sooner than later.<\/p>\n<p>Phasmophobia is set to release on PS5 and Xbox Series X\/S consoles in October 2024, after several delays. The game will be &#36;19.99 on release, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/phasmophobia\/price-just-went-up\">a slight increase from the game&#8217;s previous price tag<\/a>.
