Capcom recently released their much-anticipated Marvel vs. Capcom (MvC) Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics<\/a> digitally for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam this month. This classic MvC collection, which features “seven legendary games in one Super Heroic collection” with plenty of quality-of-life enhancements like “online play, training mode, the museum, and more,” just received some super news for its physical release.<\/p>\n

As of writing, Capcom is releasing a physical edition for this arcade classic launching this November, with details on the game’s physical version for Nintendo Switch have just been revealed by the Japanese publisher! However, its physical editions will vary depending on the region, with EMEA players receiving a plastic box with a game code inside.<\/p>\n

Capcom Europe confirmed via a tweet on their official Twitter account that the MvC Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics<\/a> EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) physical versions will differ between the Switch and PS4 versions. At launch on 22nd November 2024, the PS4 version comes with a disc inside the box, and possibly in a move that may disappoint players, the Switch version encloses a game code within the box.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, a reporting from VGC<\/a> has revealed that the game’s physical edition for the Nintendo Switch will also differ based on its regional release. According to VGC, the North American (NA) and Japanese physical editions for MvC Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will receive a “cartridge in a box” at its launch, while the EMEA, as mentioned before, will enclose the code inside the box.<\/span><\/p>\n

As disappointing as this news may be, EMEA players who wish to own a physical copy of MvC Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics at launch do have an alternative to explore but it does come at a cost. They have the option to pre-order the NA or Japanese physical edition via the game’s official website<\/a>, but as alluded to, it will cost them a few extra bucks and possibly an extended wait if there are any delays in the game’s shipping.<\/p>\n
