Indie developer Spoonful of Wonder is celebrating their much-anticipated launch of their narrative adventure game Copycat arriving to PC via Steam. This narrative-driven game follows an adorable cat who gets adopted by a loving family but is blindsided as their place in their new home is taken over by a doppelgänger or “copycat.”<\/span><\/p>\n

While the game’s dark yet emotional themes contrast with its bright and warming visuals, players control the cat protagonist, Dawn, as they navigate their surroundings to find their way home. To celebrate the game’s release, its developer released a brand new launch trailer along with a launch day discount available for players on Steam<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a joint statement from the game’s developer, Samantha Cable and Kostia Liakhov of Spoonful of Wonder expressed their heartfelt thanks to players who’ve experienced the game through the demo or early reviews. As the duo who were inspired by “the complex and nuanced world of cat ownership,” they stated that they’re “humbled to bring Copycat into the world!”<\/span><\/p>\n

“Wander alleyways, fences, and rooftops as Dawn tries to make her way back home and be reunited with Olive. But when she arrives, will Olive recognize her? How will Olive make the choice between cats? Or was Dawn the copycat all along?” the game’s official description reads.<\/p>\n

With the game also coming soon to PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles, the developer is making Copycat’s release more poignant with a launch day special. At launch, the game is discounted “with a 10% Steam launch discount” for the base game, which is priced at $14,99, and its soundtrack is at $3,99, of which the developer noted that “regional prices will vary.”<\/span><\/p>\n
