This year, they’ve added a new creature that perfectly complements the Halloween theme: the Dreadmare from the Fantastic Tames collection. How To Tame A Dreadmare In <\/span>ARK Survival Ascended<\/span><\/h2>\n

Similar to the Pyromane<\/a>, another creature from the Fantastic Tames DLC, the Dreadmare requires a special taming process that demands a fair amount of survivability. Before you set off, ensure you’re equipped with decent armor and a strong weapon, such as a shotgun or rifle. Avoid using turrets or automatic weapons, as they won’t be effective against the Dreadmare.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once you’re prepared, <\/span>choose<\/span> a location to find the Dreadmare, keeping in mind its spawn points on both Scorched Earth and The Center<\/a> and ensuring you only hunt for it at night. When you spot a Dreadmare, shoot it down, but be cautious of its attacks, as they can be lethal if you’re under-leveled or under-geared.<\/span><\/p>\n

After defeating the Dreadmare, approach its body to loot a special item called the Dark Altar, which you must place down to begin taming the Dreadmare. Make sure to place the altar a good distance from your base—more on that later—and wait for nightfall before interacting with it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once night falls, the altar will enter a five-minute cooldown period during which you must offer specific creature items (such as claws, <\/span>talons<\/span>, or skin) before time runs out. If the time elapses, the altar will spawn a creature that drops the <\/span>item it was requesting<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

For example, if it asks for Sarcosuchus skin and time runs out, a Sarco<\/a> will spawn, which could pose a problem if it’s inside your base. This is why it’s important to perform this process away from your home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each time you successfully offer an item to the altar, it will summon a red Dreadmare to “challenge” you. Take your time and be cautious, as this can be a tough fight. Utilize its circular flight pattern and ensure you’re well-equipped <\/span>to eventually defeat the final Dreadmare<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once you’ve given the last item and defeated the final Dreadmare judge, you’ll complete the ritual. All that’s left is to interact with the altar, and the Dreadmare will spawn in, fully tamed.
