In a new update on X\/Twitter, Bendy and the Ink Machine creator TheMeatly has confirmed that an indie game crossover film is unlikely <\/strong>for the upcomingBendy movie.<\/p>\n

“In all honesty, an ‘indie game crossover film’ is unlikely,” TheMeatly wrote in a recent update, addressing fan discussion about the possibility of a crossover between various indie game universes.<\/p>\n

Rumors about the possibility of a crossover began swirling around after TheMeatly jokingly replied to a Hello Neighbor movie announcement, saying, “Just need the Tattletail and Baldi movie and then we can have the epic Avengers style crossover film.”<\/p>\n

While a crossover might be “super fun,” as TheMeatly said, the decision to keep Bendy a standalone franchise stems from a desire to stay true to the unique identity of Bendy and its dark lore. TheMeatly explained that they aren’t interested in joining the crowd of “mascot horror movies.” He also pointed out that blending the unique lore of each horror universe would “cheapen the individual stories.” <\/p>\n

In the post, he also highlighted more of his hopes and visions for the movie, including that it will be “mostly aimed at adults.” <\/strong>The goal for the Bendy movie, he said, is to create a “timeless horror film” that faithfully captures the spirit of the games – where “animation horrors come to life in live action.” In the past, TheMeatly has explained that he hopes to use a mixture of live action and CGI<\/a> to tell the Bendy and the Ink Machine story.<\/p>\n

For now, it seems that the Bendy movie will remain a singular, self-contained story, with no plans to mix it into a larger indie game crossover—at least not in its initial cinematic debut. TheMeatly announced on Halloween thatAndré Øvredal<\/a><\/strong> will direct the Bendy and the Ink Machine movie,<\/a> so it’ll be interesting to see how his directing style plays out for this franchise.<\/p>\n
