As your early journey in Dragon Age: The Veilguard unfolds, meeting Bellara will set you on a path toward D’Meta’s Crossing and another bold decision with long-lasting impacts. After players have wrapped up In Entropy’s Grasp to help Bellara deactivate the artifact and defeat an overwhelmingly strong ogre, the story continues with a search for some missing Veil Jumpers. Before you decide what to do with the mayor, it may help to know how companions will respond and what later impacts the choice will have on your Dragon Age: The Veilguard save.<\/p>\n

Should you leave or save the mayor in Dragon Age Veilguard?<\/h2>\n

After wrapping up the previous quest, a conversation at the Veil Jumper Camp will kick off Shadows Crossing. This becomes a pivotal part of setting up the overarching story in Dragon Age: The Veilguard<\/a>, as it’ll be your first time seeing what the blight can really do. First, you’ll need to follow the quest marker and explore D’Meta’s Crossing as a whole. <\/p>\n

If you aren’t already, start making a habit of dashing through breakable barrels or pots to gain resources and opening any chests or small gold pouches. Once you’ve spoken to a few villagers and discovered one of the missing Veil Jumpers, it won’t be long before you reach Mayor Julius.<\/p>\n

Your conversation with him is important as this further establishes your leadership style and way of speaking, but it’s the final choice that will make the largest impact in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. If you save the mayor, you’ll gain some approval from Neve<\/a>. However, both Bellara and Harding will disapprove. If you’re looking to maximize the impact on growing bonds between characters, this may not be your best pick.<\/p>\n

However, players who chose to start with Grey Wardens as their faction have a higher incentive. If you’re playing a Grey Wardens character, a third option will allow you to banish him to the Grey Wardens. This will still upset Bellara and Harding, but Neve approves of it even more strongly and further increases your bond with her. Players looking to romance Neve in Veilguard<\/a> may want to consider using a Grey Wardens character for access to this bonus.<\/p>\n

If you instead choose to leave the mayor to his fate, you will immediately get an approval boost for Harding and Bellara. Neve will disapprove, but doing additional quests with Neve can certainly make up for that one moment. On top of that, leaving him there will setup the mayor as a formidable boss in the later quest A Growing Corruption. It doesn’t have a huge story impact, but it means more XP and bond improvement for the companions you take on that Dragon Age: The Veilguard<\/a> quest. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
