Sparks flew in China during the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024<\/a>, where the eight best Counter-Strike 2 (CS2)<\/a> teams from Asia-Pacific (APAC) competed for only three spots at the Regional Major Rankings (RMR) event. <\/p>\n

Three Qualified APAC Teams: Shanghai Major Results<\/h2>\n

Considered the best team in the region by quite a large margin, The MongolZ managed to win their opening match with relative ease against Alter Ego, with a 13-8 score on Ancient to move on.<\/p>\n

In the all-important Upper Bracket match for qualification to the main event of the Major, The MongolZ faced off against DRILLAS. While DRILLAS won the first map, Mirage, with a rather close 13-11 score, The MongolZ bounced back in dominating fashion, winning Ancient 13-2 and Anubis 13-5 to complete the reverse sweep and qualify for the Perfect World Shanghai Major main event.<\/p>\n

On the other side of the bracket, Rare Atom made quick work of GR Gaming with a 13-4 win on Anubis. Then, Rare Atom showed TALON, who’s boss, with a clean 2-0 victory, winning Vertigo 13-8 and Inferno 13-8 as well.<\/p>\n

Impressively, there were 8643 teams registered for the China Open Qualifier, and only one team, Rare Atom, eventually made it through the Chinese Qualifier to earn a spot in this RMR. The squad has now completed their harrowing Major Championship qualification journey, which is incredible and insane.<\/p>\n

After losing their opening match against TALON, Australian side FlyQuest bounced back in spectacular fashion on 13 November 2024. FlyQuest made a thrilling lower-bracket run, beating GR Gaming 2-0, DRILLAS 2-1, and Lynn Vision Gaming 2-0 to claim a spot in the main event of the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024.<\/p>\n
