While much of the discussion centers on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/elden-ring\/shadow-of-the-erdtree-review\">Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree<\/a> being nominated for Game of the Year despite being a DLC, another point of contention has emerged.<\/p>\n<p>Many fans are disappointed that Igon, a standout character from the DLC, and his voice actor, Richard Lintern, were completely overlooked in the Best Performance category. Here&#8217;s a closer look at the details.<\/p>\n<h2>Elden Ring Fans Debate TGA Best Performance Nominees, Claiming Igon Deserved Recognition<\/h2>\n<p>The nominees for Best Performance at The Game Awards (TGA) are Briana White, Hannah Telle, Humberly Gonz&aacute;lez, Luke Roberts, and Melina Juergens, each recognized for their roles in some of this year&rsquo;s biggest gaming releases. However, fans are fired up over the snubs, especially when it comes to Igon (CURSE YOU, BAYLE!!) from the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Performance of a lifetime, [unfortunately] given as a FromSoft NPC. I&rsquo;m fine with him not being nominated.&rdquo; And honestly, we agree with this logic.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/FG-GCelBwv4Lh3RsiJou5r_gYIsZu7zICgEZUTkL4aQ\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMy82NzNjNzcwNjRkNjdmLU5vbWluZWVzLmpwZw\" alt=\"Igon vs the other nominees\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption contenteditable=\"false\">While Richard Lintern&#8217;s performance as Igon was memorable, it was limited to a few voice lines and interactions, which pales in comparison to the full characters and stories portrayed by the current nominees.(Picture: TGA)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As iconic as Igon&rsquo;s voice lines are &#8211; and as much as I can probably recite his entire dialogue tree by now &#8211; there just isn&rsquo;t enough material, dialogue, or character interaction to justify his performance surpassing the other nominees.<\/p>\n<p>Still, this goes to show that making a character memorable or beloved doesn&rsquo;t always require lengthy dialogue trees. A good performance sells the character for what they are, and in my opinion, Richard Lintern nailed it, maybe even better than the other nominees.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/_sYeAgZLRGBi_rMDrwPj1RY3_-BnoTI92Pz4RlCRCQw\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMy82NzNjNzcwNjUwMTFlLUZ1dHVyZSBmb3Igc21hbGxlciBWQXMuanBn\" alt=\"Future for smaller VAs\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption contenteditable=\"false\">While Lintern and Igon shouldn&rsquo;t compete with these larger characters, there could be a future for an Honorable Mentions category to give smaller characters and their VAs a moment in the spotlight. But wouldn&rsquo;t it be awesome if TGA introduced an Honorable Mention category? Giving Igon and Richard Lintern their moment in the spotlight would be incredible.<\/p>\n<p>Until then, we&rsquo;ll keep waiting, whether it&rsquo;s for an &ldquo;Expansion of the Year&rdquo; category to fix the DLC\/Game of the Year problem or for a way to give underappreciated characters like Igon the recognition they deserve after the crusade against the vile Bayle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Game Awards nominees have been revealed, sparking debates among fans.
