Baldur’s Gate 3<\/a> is one of those rare, endlessly playable games that offer so many branching paths to keep players entertained for days on end. Since its full launch back in August 2023, we’ve met every companion, achieved every ending, and acted on far too many of our dark urges. <\/p>\n

But, it seems there’s soon to be even more ways to customise your next playthrough, if Larian’s recent Community Update<\/a> is anything to go by. The studio has revealed that, in 2025, we can expect to see full cross-platform progression and cross-play rolling out across platforms, as well as a Photo Mode and 12 new subclasses. <\/p>\n

A new Subclass will be added for each of the existing 12 classes; Bard, Barbarian, Cleric, Druid, Paladin, Fighter, Monk, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock and Wizard. These subclasses will add in new abilities, animations, VFX, summons, cantrips, and new voiced dialogue for the Oathbreaker Knight.<\/p>\n

The upcoming subclasses, for each of the existing classes in Baldur’s Gate 3, are as follows:<\/p>\n

  • Bard – College of Glamour<\/li>\n
  • Barbarian – Path of Giants<\/li>\n
  • Cleric – Death Domain<\/li>\n
  • Druid – Circle of Stars<\/li>\n
  • Paladin – Oath of the Crown<\/li>\n
  • Fighter – Arcane Archer<\/li>\n
  • Monk – Drunken Master<\/li>\n
  • Ranger – Swarmkeeper<\/li>\n
  • Rogue – Swashbuckler<\/li>\n
  • Sorcerer – Shadow Magic<\/li>\n
  • Warlock – Hexblade<\/li>\n
  • Wizard – Bladesinging<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    All of the above subclasses will add a new dimension to each class, giving even BG3 veterans something worth coming back for — not that we ever stopped playing. At the time of writing, it’s unclear exactly when Baldur’s Gate 3’s Patch 8 will be releasing, other than it being scheduled for sometime in 2025.
