Bendy and the Ink Machine creator TheMeatly posted an update about the series today on X/Twitter, reminding fans that Bendy “is a horror franchise” and that fans can expect “much darker themes and visuals” in future content.

He added that there will likely be additional Bendy game options for kids in the future, but also noted that he “doesn’t believe in talking down to kids,” since “kids can understand far more than we give them credit for.” TheMeatly has previously stated that he wants the franchise to be truly scary.

“In the end, Bendy started out with the ambition to not just be a ‘viral mascot horror’game, but a horror game and unique universe that earns its way into gamer’s minds and hearts with memorable moments and characters. We will keep doing our best by learning from our weaknesses and building on our strengths.”

He finished things on an especially promising, but vague, note: “Bendy will return.”
